About Laughing Loon Custom Furniture
My mission is to craft unique furniture using the best materials, time-proven techniques, and durable non-toxic finishes, while working to bring out the innate beauty in each piece of wood.
Philosophy
As the designer and creator of each piece, I work closely with each client to ensure that their furniture meets their design specifications. Your inspiration, including something you’ve seen in a magazine to paper napkin sketches, can be brought to life. And, it will be crafted with excellence to last a lifetime. Whether it is a built-in cabinet, a period reproduction, or something more contemporary, every piece of furniture is crafted on at a time. Let your furniture be as distinct as you are.
Design
In the eight years during which I have been creating custom one-of-a-kind pieces of furniture, I have had the good fortune to be able to work on a variety of styles including: Shaker, Greene & Greene, Empire, Arts and Crafts, and Federal styles, as well as some more contemporary creations.
Each piece is made by hand employing the best craftsmanship and materials in order to exceed your expectations.
Green Furniture Materials
I make a conscious choice to use FSC certified wood whenever possible and upon your request. Much of this wood comes from local and regional people. Keeping it local supports the local economy and builds a stronger community.
I also choose to use non-toxic glues and finishes. Each piece of furniture is finished in a way that is both durable and friendly to your family and home.
Antique Repair
Also as a service, I repair antiques including veneer replacement and patching, inlay reconstruction, molding replication, and finishing. I can also repair that sentimental chair that’s been out in the garage for years.
